Birthdays post

Birthdays come once a year. Why tho? People used to not celebrate birthdays but they grew up to become preachers, carpenters, etc. What was this day then that so many called birthdays. It is supposed to be a day of celebration. While so many abused the day by drinking or doing whatever they want to do, some of us try to use the day to do what is right. June 12th. 1968 at 12:20 I was born. What makes this day extra special is I almost died quite a few times in my life. I was born the wrong way. I was told that is why it made me a special need child. I ended up with being slow in some areas and hard of hearing. I passed the hard of hearing right up till I was 6 yrs old. They said something to me and I didn't respond. so they did a test. They slammed a book behind me and I didn't respond to that. My parents found out so they took me to a hearing specialist for an audiology test. That was when they took my parents aside and said I needed hearing aids. Then after that they put me in a school for the hard of hearings. I refused to accept the term I was deaf. So I didn't learn signs then. This was one of many reasons that I found that birthday is hard to deal with for some. They been abused so they think birthdays are no good. They don't get a break for years. So they grow up thinking you supposed to be abused. So they don't celebrate. I hope for them that birthdays gets better and they don't carry on the terms of abuse. I almost lost faith in birthdays. But then I grew up into the person I am today. What happened in the past shouldn't define what your birthday was supposed to be like in the future. As this is the day you should celebrate in a positive way. It shouldn't be meant to spend it as an alcoholic or drug addict. Those just happened. It should be used to spend it in a cheerful way.
